Technology Strategy and Development
Andrew joined the Impact Centre in 2014 to assist with the development of technology and to increase academic-industry collaboration. He focuses on coordinating industrially relevant research, writing grant proposals and other Impact Centre communications, and facilitating interactions between researchers.
Andrew received his B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science, M.Sc. in Chemistry, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, all from the University of Toronto. During his Ph.D., he developed new materials for organic electronic and renewable energy applications. He brings additional expertise in a broad range of topics, including polymer synthesis, surface science, optics, and organic crystal engineering. Outside of academic research, Andrew has worked as a freelance technical editor to help researchers communicate their science more effectively with journals and the public. He has expanded that to form his own scientific and technical editing business and brings this writing expertise to the Impact Centre.
In his spare time, Andrew endlessly renovates his house. When not doing that, he plays volleyball and enjoys cooking, gardening, and home brewing.
