The Impact Centre is bringing its unique startup program across Eastern Ontario and into Quebec. On November 28 and 29, our Experiential Learning Educator Dr. Alon Eisenstein will be visiting partners in Cobourg, Cornwall, Kingston, and Montreal to share information on the program and how we can support startup companies by connecting them with dedicated and passionate students.

Over the past 5 years, our startup internship programs have placed more than 200 students in more than 50 Toronto-based companies. However, our new Closer to Home program looks beyond Toronto to connect University of Toronto students to opportunities closer to where they live. Students who commute into Toronto from within the GTA or those who live outside the GTA during summer have skills and experience that could benefit companies in the GTA and beyond.

Working with regional partners Cornwall Innovation Centre, Tandem Launch, LaunchLab, and Venture13, we are looking to connect with companies who are interested in hosting students for the upcoming Summer 2018 session. Students will work with the company part-time for 12-weeks while participating in bi-weekly online workshops and receive a full University of Toronto course credit towards their degree requirements.

The full schedule for the information session are:
